We make every effort to ensure that our website is as user-friendly as possible. Below you will find a few tips to help you derive maximum benefit from our internet pages.
It is best to use a recent generation internet browser for viewing these pages. We employ graphics, CSS, JavaScript, Cookies and SSI. For optimum viewing, these functions need to be activated in your browser.
General Information about Browsers:
As the providers of internet browsers – despite the existence of prescribed standards – have not always been able to agree on a uniform presentation of certain commands, the appearance of the pages might sometimes vary depending on the browser used. When programming our site we have tried to achieve good presentation of our pages with all standard browsers.
From our visitor statistics we know that by far the majority of our visitors navigate the Web with Internet Explorer and it is with this browser that you will achieve optimum viewing of our pages. The new Opera browser also handles the commands very well. Netscape unfortunately encounters the greatest problems in this respect, even if the new 7.1 version is used.
Security with JavaScript and CSS
CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are simply formatting definitions which provide the browser with information about how pages should be presented. These style sheets pose no risk whatsoever. The Netscape browser requires JavaScript to be activated at the same time for these style sheets to be used (see above).
JavaScript should not be confused with Java applets. While the applets perform separate actions which can be misused by unscrupulous programmers, this is not possible with JavaScript. You can therefore safely activate this without prejudicing your security.
